Gucci Creates the Perfect Collection with Jackie Soft

Gucci Jackie Soft (1)

Gucci has been a handbag highlight for me for what feels like seasons on end. From Bright Diamante to Fringe to Bamboo, each new collection has found a way to win me over. Now, Gucci has sealed my everlasting love with the Jackie Soft collection, a nod to the house classic Jackie bag.

The Gucci Jackie dates back to the 1960s, when it found a namesake in Jackie Onassis. Much like Ms. Onassis, the bag became an instant icon, and the Jackie Soft is a modern reinterpretation with supple-yet-durable leather in five different styles, all in a range of colors and skins.

Gucci Jackie Soft (4)

The collection includes sage green and nut brown crocodile; soft leather in shades as diverse as candy pink, aqua and mustard yellow; python in shades of bordeaux and aquamarine; and classic neutrals, like black and beige. And that’s only scratching the surface of the muted, rich tones you’ll find in the Jackie Soft collection.

Kate Moss stars in the campaign for Gucci Jackie Soft, and the juxtaposition of her and Jackie O seems fitting–a thoroughly modern evolution of a classic bag gets a thoroughly modern representative. The ads also highlight the new design’s versatility; the Jackie Soft is an ideal classic, but it’s contemporary enough to translate well on not-so-traditional women as well.

I look at so many bags that finding one that really grabs my attention is quite the feat, but the Jackie Soft did just that from the beginning. I love the elegant feel, but the soft leather gives a more approachable edge to the design. The leather is touchable, but the bag looks like it will last for years to come.

My personal favorite is the Jackie Soft Leather Flap Shoulder Bag, and whether you opt for crocodile, python or soft leather, you can’t go wrong. The bag is large enough to carry everything you need for your daily life, but it’s also not too large to be carried at night. I simply adore this bag and its beyond-usable interior, which has five pouch pockets of varying sizes for easy organization.

The Jackie Soft Clutch is much like the shoulder bag in its design, just without the shoulder strap. The larger shape makes an instant statement, and like the whole collection, the materials and colors offered are diverse.

In a nod to the original Jackie Hobo, the Jackie Soft Hobo is undeniably chic. The bag hugs nicely to your body, with ample drop between the handle and opening of the bag. I imagine Jacqueline Onassis carrying the beige crocodile option, which is perfection in every way.

The Top Handle is ideal for someone who needs to carry more for their day-to-day life, and and both sizes of this shape come with an optional crossbody strap. I would love the smaller size for everyday use, while the larger size is what weekend trips call for.

Prices for the Jackie Soft Collection range from $895 for the convertible wallet to $31,000 for a crocodile top handle. The candy pink shoulder bag is an online exclusive (and personal favorite)

Gucci Bamboo Shopper Totes in New Colors

Categories:Other Brands

Gucci-Bamboo-Shopper-Tote-7

The GUCCI Bamboo shopper tote do not need any introduction (especially from me), you see the bamboo collection exist for more than 60 years and is much older than me. So I probably should quietly sit down and let him amuse me with its stories and wisdom.

Okay, presenting the Gucci Bamboo totes in new spring colors – purple, orange, fuchsia, red and blue (the blue version is only available at Gucci, just for your info). Sixty years of refinement is the only evidence you need to verify its craftsmanship; with light fine gold hardware, natural cotton lining, the Gucci signature written on the front and making sure that everyone knows ‘it’s made in Italy’ (Yep, I got the message), it comes with a double bamboo handles.

The interior quite impressive, just let me say: ‘every girl loves things that are neat and structured’, so what can you find inside? Zip and smart phone pockets, zip compartment and snap pocket and a large empty space for your big-size essentials. For those who can’t live without a shoulder strap, that’s included too.

I somehow can fall easily in love with bright and shiny colors, it’s just make fashion more interesting and challenging. Let’s leave our classic black at home tomorrow, who is in? Measuring 13.5 x 8.5 x 6 in inches (W x H x D), at Gucci for $1,890.

SPRING-SUMMER 2015 WOMENS GUCCI

Categories:Other Brands

gucci_ss15-womens1My second time in Milan, my first time for Gucci. This pretty much sums up my stay so far in Milan, having flown over from London just yesterday afternoon. So what do I have planned here in Milan? Besides the Spring-Summer 2015 Womens Guccirunway presentation that’s happening in a few hours from now (you can watch the ‘live-streaming’ via the blog’s homepage), there’s also a launch party for Gucci’s new beauty line tonight (not so good for me, but great for you ladies so do stay tuned online).

Then there’s also a trip to Florence planned, where I’ll be visiting 2 factories (one for bags, one for shoes), Gucci Museo (can buy limited edition offerings available nowhere else) and finally back to the Milan with a visit to Gucci’s first men’s flagship in Europe in the historic Brera district.

In other words, it’s going to be a packed few days in Milan and Florence, and to stay up to the minute as my far as my updates are concerned, do stay tuned in on my Instagram account, and then Facebook at the end of the day for a quick recap. But for now, sit back, relax and catch the S/S15 runway presentation that I hear promises to be a visual treat.

Gucci Cosmetics Collection

Gucci-Cosmetics-Collection-3

Nowadays it’s rare that a designer brand doesn’t tap into the huge cosmetic market, Saint Laurent has been doing that for a long time, very successfully. That’s why next month (October 2014), Gucci will be launching their own make-up collection, but first they will be exclusively available across the UAE and Harvey Nichols. Of course (and we’re certain) we hope they will release them in other countries.

The vision of Gucci’s creative director, Frida Giannini, is very simple but unique – beauty and fashion are always connected to each other, one doesn’t exist with the other. They are important elements when it comes to the Gucci Runway Show, they are like accessories.

Take the first glimpse on this collection…

PurseForum Roundup – September 5

Categories:Other Brands

Gucci Bamboo Satchel

Happy Friday, PurseForum Roundup readers! Summer flew by in the blink of an eye, and here we are looking toward the beginnings of autumn. This week, we wandered around The Playground and Celebrity subforums for a bit, and then visited Coach, Chloé and Gucci. There are plenty of bags and accessories to be enjoyed and lots of conversations to join!

Hermes Birkin Outfit

This week, we head right to The Wardrobe to catch some of summer’s last looks in our Outfit of the Day thread. We loved the breezy street style shot from meowmeow94, who pairs up an inexpensive dress with a fabulous bag for a result that is lovely, accessible and fun.

Our members are also keeping eye out for the latest Target designer collaboration and discussing the launch in the Altuzarra for Target thread. In the General Shopping section, we found a busy thread that asks an interesting question: Is the resale market dying? Our members know a great deal about shopping for new and previously owned bags, clothes and accessories, and this thread makes for a very good read.

Chloe Marcie Bag

In Chloé this week, we found this beautiful Marcie at the top of the page, and what a bag!Katran26 added this sharp satchel to her collection, and we are sure this purse will see a lot of action this fall. The color is excellent, and it’s a pure perfection with the gold hardware.

Daphane showed off her first Chloé, a gorgeous coral wallet that she was able to get for a steal. Also, Marcie fans will absolutely love this reveal of an elegant grey crossbody and matching wallet from KaseyHK. You can find plenty of Marcies and other Chloé styles in our Chloé in action thread, which may soon have you wondering what your next purchase will be.

Scones

Over in The Playground, we caught up with our food-loving fashionistas in The Kitchen, where we stopped by our favorite thread, I Ate This, where new member CreativelySwank posted these luscious shrimp fajitas and a prickly pear margarita, which strike us as a perfect pairing. We also want to share something that will warm up your fall mornings–nerimanna’sscrumptious scones and the recipe to make them at home!

Also in The Playground, the Television and Cinema subforum has been buzzing with the latest on our favorite movies and shows, including the final season of True Blood, the new Starz series Outlander, and return of The Good Wife. If you enjoy deconstructing plot twists and character development, drop in–we have a thread for just about every show and franchise!

By the way, did you know that the PurseForum has a special section dedicated to all thingsceleb-related, including special sections for gossip and style? These are among our busiest and liveliest destinations, and this past month we all shared our feelings over the sad passings of Robin Williams and Joan Rivers. We also caught up with Beyonce and Jay Z,  Mariah and Nick and, of course, the exciting news of the wedding of Brad and Angelina. Our members tell it like it is, and you will love their special brand of celebrity dish!

Coach Purple Satchel

We make it a point to drop into threads with colorful titles, and in Coach this week, we found plenty to love in the Happy Early Purple Birthday thread. Hollywoodbadgrl showed off her new bag and phone case; a perfect pairing to ring in September.

Coach Tanner Totes

Finding your Holy Grail bag is always cause for celebration, and when we dropped intojadis4783′s Holy Grail reveal thread, we certainly didn’t expect to find this impressive rainbow! It turns out that the blush Mini Tanner pictured at the far left was not only hard to find, but also essential to rounding out this amazing collection. Congratulations jadis4783–this is an impressive array of bags!

For more wonderful reveals, don’t miss the Coach Secondhand Bargains thread; you will be amazed at the treasures our Coachies find every single day!

Gucci Bamboo Satchel

PurseBlog readers know that the Gucci bamboo handle bags have a special place in our hearts. This week, we found a beauty revealed by arviereyes, hidden in a thread simply titled Reveal. And what a reveal it is! This splendid, classic bag steals our hearts every time, and this is a terrific color combination.

Gucci Loafers

We love when our gentlemen share their style and their new purchases, and this week, ujilirounded off a world-class shopping trip with a pair of iconic Gucci horsebit loafers. You will not want to miss his reveal of the entire haul, but these stylish shoes certainly deserve special mention, and attention! By the way, the ladies love the feminine iteration of these classic nike shoes, and ShariLee showed off her newest addition along with a family photo in her Addicted to the Horsebit loafer thread.

Well, Roundup readers, that finishes off our first Roundup of September. We hope you enjoyed this little taste of what goes on over at our sister forum. We look forward to bringing you these snippets each and every Friday and look forward to seeing you in a week’s time. Meanwhile, enjoy the weekend and the week ahead!

Gucci Time Travels to the ’60s With These Go-Go-Inspired Boots

Categories:Other Brands

Feature Image

With the ’60s inspiration comes mega platforms, chunky heels and knee-high boots, and it’s easy to conclude that Gucci was influenced by this iconic era in fashion history. While there are no crazy prints or lace-up suedes in this Fall 2014 collection, by prepared to see lots of platforms.

We covered this collection after it appeared on the runway, and now that it’s available for purchase, we felt it worthy of a second look. After reading a lot of your comments these last few weeks, most of you would like all platforms to take step aside and let the single-sole shoes have its moment, but for some reason, it seems like designers are hesitant to let that happen. I don’t know exactly why that is all I can say is, but I’m with you in wanting to give the single sole it’s moment.
